"Questioning Your Self?"

You are priceless. Your worth is so much more than what you do for a living. So much more than what you actually believe your value to be.

Take a moment for those words to sink in and for you to process them.

We all have different roles - daughter/son, mother/father, sister/brother, partner, wife/husband. These are what society has created for us to give us a purpose. A human requirement that needs to be fulfilled and labelled.

On top of that, we are given a paid role. A job that provides an income for ourselves to remain healthy, safe and contented.

We are not our role however. We have a purpose already. That's what we're all searching for, right?

The mandatory game show host question - "So, what do you do for a living?"

The need to know that this person has a purpose, that they are providing a financial contribution to society and are living their "best" life because they are a/an .............. (Place selected job role in the space provided.) Even though, they are on a gameshow chasing happiness, hoping for a big cash prize - go figure!

This settles the learned thoughts that a person should be valued not for their whole being but for their job and education.

You are so much more than your annual salary.

Think of the career choices that put our mind, body and spirit at risk. How can a price be put on that? It can't, hence why a career in the emergency services for example, can only be done out of love. Love for fellow humans - whether you are conscious of that or not.

We all have various roles to play, but to pigeon hole ourselves into just one and to believe that's all we are, is detrimental for our growth. We adapt and move and develop at varying speed sand to accept our self - worth takes time and perseverance. Whether we know or not we are heading towards the same destination. This is another concept to consider on our journey here.

Every living, breathing being has unique value, everything creates a ripple effect. What effects one affects the other.

Understanding that our purpose doesn't have a name, a monetary value, a salary is quite profound.

A kind word to someone, phoning your parents, checking in with a friend or saying good morning to the postie are all exchanges of positive energy, a simple action, but often forgotten. An exchange of Love has no price but the effects and benefits are invaluable. Creating that ripple effect.

"So, what do you do for a living?"

The answer should be - "Well, I exchange the gift of Love and I receive Love in abundance."

Take a leaf out of The Beatle's way of thinking, because all you really need is love!
